International Conference on Recent Advances in Materials Processing and Characterization (RAMPC-2025)

The Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, NIT Jamshedpur, in association with Indian Institute of Metals, Jamshedpur chapter hosted the International Conference on Recent Advances in Materials Processing and Characterization (RAMPC-2025) from March 21 to March 23, 2025.

This prestigious three-day event brought together experts from industry and academia to discuss the recent materials processing and characterization innovations techniques, with 52 technical research papers on emerging trends in material processing and characterization techniques, sustainable solutions, and industrial applications.

The conference is honoured to have distinguished guests, Dr. Sandip Ghosh Chowdhary, Director, CSIR-NML Jamshedpur (Chief Guest), Mr. Ajitesh Monga, Plant Manager & Director, Tata Cummins Pvt. Ltd. (Guest of Honour), Prof. Gautam Sutradhar, Director, NIT Jamshedpur, Prof. Chittaranjan Sahay, University of Hartford, USA, Prof. Ram Vinoy Sharma, Deputy Director, NIT Jamshedpur, Dr. Ashok Kumar, Head, Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, NIT Jamshedpur and other deans and Hods of different departments and faculty members of NIT Jamshedpur.

RAMPC-2025 is concluded on 23.03.025 with a grand valedictory session, the Chief Guest of the session, was Dr. Sunil Kumar, Principal Scientist at CSIR-NML Jamshedpur. He emphasized the importance of innovation in materials science and its growing relevance to industrial and societal needs. He called for continued research and collaboration in the field, highlighting materials-related innovation as the need of the hour.

The valedictory session was presided over by Prof. Ram Vinoy Sharma, Deputy Director, NIT Jamshedpur, who stressed the significance of such conferences in driving knowledge exchange and technological advancement in this rapidly evolving era. Prof. Ashok Kumar, Chairman of RAMPC-2025, presented a comprehensive summary of the three-day event. At the same time, Dr Ram Krishna, the Convenor of the conference, highlighted the 52 technical presentations made by researchers and experts, showcasing cutting-edge developments in materials and their integration with emerging technologies. He also thanks IIM Jamshedpur Chapter and Tata Steel for being conference partners.  The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks, marking the successful completion of RAMPC-2025 and reaffirming NIT Jamshedpur’s commitment to promoting research and innovation in materials science.
